Why
is Brandon the Wrong Man for Sami?
- The
most important reason Brandon is the
wrong man for Sami is simply because he
isn't Lucas.
- While
claiming to love Sami, he had sex with
Lexie.
- His
character type won't allow Sami to grow
into the woman she is destined to become.
- He
limits her by his own need to feel
superior and in charge.
- He
was not smart enought to realize that
there is a good explanation behind Sami's
last-minute decision to cancel their
"first" date; all the clues
were there, he just couldn't connect the
dots.
- He
called Sami crazy after he pulled a knife
out and threatened Abe.
- While
saying he accepts Sami for who she is, he
expects her to change.
- He is
an emotional abuser.
- Brandon
wants to be the lover, the man, but not
the partner.
- He
refuses to admit he needs
anger-management counceling.
- His
sister is Nicole.
- During
one of Sami's darkest hours, after her
non-wedding to Austin, Brandon chose to
abandon her.
- Even
considering some of the other items in
this list, Brandon has a
"Knight-Rescuing-the-Damsel-in-
Distress" complex. He is only
interested in a lady long enough to
"save" her, then he moves on.
However, he only wants to save them from
situations he deems worthy. (Refer back
to number 12.)
- He
flirts with all the ladies.
- He
set Sami and Jack up at the Full Moon Bed
and Breakfast, making them think they
were going to be killed . . . even
knowing Sami's past . . . how she's been
tortured with the thread of death before.
- He
attempted to replace Sami with her
opposite: Jennifer. Then he made sure to
point out all the little ways Jennifer is
supposedly better than her.
- He's
a hypocrit: It's OK for him to sleep with
a married woman (i.e. Lexi), but Abe is
the devil incarnate for having done the
same.
- He
conspired with Lexie to help keep Sami's
aunt Hope from finding out about her real
son Zack.
- He's
become Austin all over. He speaks like
him, mistreats Sami like him, and
sympathizes with Nicole like him.
- He
couldn't keep his mind on Sami during the
romantic weekend away; he kept thinking
of his night of groaning passion with
Lexie.
- In
his world, it's OK for him to lie and
deceive Sami, but she must be completely
honest with him every second of every
hour or every day!
- Well,
anyone who'll say that his love for a
woman will last "to infinity and
beyond" is not smart enough nor man
enough for Sami!
- His
mother has become a shrew to Sami!
- He
wants to be the father of Lexie's child,
not caring what that would do to the
woman he claims to love.
- He
whored Sami to Lucas (as his personal
assistant) for a few dollars for his
hospital program and defended Lucas's
sexist, domineering behavior toward her.
